Birthday Update {Part 1}

Featuring an analogy posted by Prof Ong Wen Hao Marcus (P.S. aspiring to be :P) of how the sub-prime came about... For someone who knows nuts about economics, i thought this was pretty easy to understand, so this is how the story went...

1. Commercial banks made it possible for anyone to borrow money (even the sub-primers - refer to chart above* self-constructed! :)

2. Bank: YT owes me $100. Oh shit! What if she can't return the 100bucks to me. So in order to spread the bad debt, I offered John (Investment banks - Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns) to buy from me pieces of paper at $50 and in return, YT will owe him $100 (So he earns $50).
P.S. Commercial banks sell such instruments: MBS (Mortgage Back Securities)

3. John wants to spread the MDS too, in the case that YT cannot pay up! So they sold it to other people internationally (DBS, Bank of China, etc).

4. At the same time, John bought insurance (mostly from AIG) to guard against YT not paying up (Credit Default Swop). A gamble which AIG took that caused them to end up in bankruptcy.

Easy to understand isn't it? HEHE :D

Anyway, bird-day updates coming right up!

Amazingly, we've got 4 October babies in our dept! And last Friday, we celebrated the first...Jo's 20+ birthday! :) Jo's our projector wonderwoman! and she fits the OL look like super well. Maybe she's tall. Hmpf! Why can't I be taller?!

On a random night, this is the amount we had for supper. Yes, you didn't get me wrong. It's supper.
I'm deadbeat. Yet I lie in bed refusing to sleep. Now that work takes up the entire of my daylight, moonlight is extremely precious. Plus it's Thursday! YAY. "Thursday is the new Friday", just like how people say "Grey is the new Black"!

Anyhows, I think I'm over-excited with the public holidays & my bird-day that I've overspent a tinny winny bit. Okay, maybe not that tiny bit :( Considering that it's only 9 Oct which means it's still a freakin' 2wks+ before the next pay, I better watch my purse. Gees. Dear friends & darling, please give me constant reminders. P.S. YL, pls don't cajole me to online shop :P

Saturday we popped over to the not-so-usual hang out place - CHINATOWN! Darling was patient enough to join in the loooooong queue for the famous 'Curry Chicken Noodles'! And he was the sweetest to accompany me shop shop around. Admist our roaming around, we managed to find some great stuff. Look below! :)

Some really cheap thrills. Don't they remind us of our childhood playtimes?

I requested that we play MONOPOLY! I've always enjoyed playing it, just that ever since my 'dupid' bro grew up, no one plays with me :( HAHAH...now, i found one! Somemore he claims that he's a MONOPOLY 高手! HA.

And so, i employed the 'buy-all-MRT stations-STRATEGY!' So the moment he stepped on any of the MRT station, he has to pay me $2000!!! He still has the cheek to tell me: 'Car don't need to visit MRT station one lei' (YAYAYA... just cos he's using a car monopoly mover piece) And so the self-proclaimed 高手 was sadly left with THIS amt of $$ and he's very PROUD geylang houses. HAHAHA
Look at the number of $5000 I have haha... Now you know who's the REAL 高手!

We ended off the day with a very nice Hagen Daz Fondue, compliments of darling's AIG's shares! And we've got company from Xueying & Laurence who are Marc's NUS schmates and my Sec sch juniors. OH my, S'pore is so small.

Lying in the comfort of my bed, moving to the groove of my iTune, sipping my fav Vitasoy and munching on the Tom-Yum Seaweed, i thought...OH MAN! It's been donkey years since i last done this. Shiok Sia.

Anyway, I had a smashing weekend. Let the pictures do the talking!

Our dear MR Mugcus (what he calls himself since he's cooped home for days mugging for his mid-terms) sprained his ankle while footballing. Haix Boys. And so now he's got a "Ba Ka".

But of cos we didn't let his "Ba Ka" get in the way. We still went ahead for Elva's mini concert @ Max Pavilion.
Magcus: Jialat la, my leg so ugly now, Elva's gna see it.
Ting: Hello darling! There's gna be hundreds of people there, she's not gna be able to see it.

And so i was right. LOOK at the queue. That "Ba Ka" still want to chop good seats. MY GOD. Uncle.

Sunday was Ting-Wei's Day! Can't remember when was the last time we hang out alone without mom breathing down our necks. YAY! We had our fill at Vivo's Food Republic Ba-Ku-Teh. Really not cheap. I kena "Ka" by my bro. Kena "Ka" the second time at topshop. And Kena "Ka" the third time at far east. All in all, my bro dropped a BOMBZ on me that day...I poooor thinnng :(
But we had SO MUCH FUNNN!
